Fires
Many of you have probably seen news coverage on the southern CA wildfires. The Malibu fire destroyed Malibu Presbyterian Church, where I went when I attended Pepperdine. It also destroyed a really neat castle we used to drive by and wonder about.
The air at our house has an eerie brownish tinge to it, and the smoke/ash smell is really strong. The closest fire to our house is still not very close, but having it be in our city does make the fact that people are losing their homes more real.
All of this is to say we're OK, and please pray with us for those affected!
Something new
I've been using my current purse since early high school. It is still in decent shape (which is certainly a testament to the sturdiness of this brand, The Sak), but I've been finding myself feeling a little embarrassed by it because it is so out of style. I have a couple of other bags, but they aren't everyday bags because they have lots of colors or are too fancy or too small. This past week, I used some of my flute lesson money to get myself a new bag. It came today and I LOVE it! It's a Harvey's seatbelt bag. Ricci had (still has?) one and I've always admired it.

That is *very* cute!! :) Lucy is getting SO big! What size clothes is she in now? :) I love that Nate interacts with her so well! He is such a great big brother! :)

Lucy's wearing mostly 6 month stuff, and some 6-9 things. :) Her next doc appointment is Wednesday, so I'll find out then how she's doing weight- and height-wise.
I'm so glad you're okay! I've been worried.
i love purses and enjoyed perusing both websites here. The Sak's Dome Satchel is awesome and I love the Harvey's Floral Boxy Chocolate. I may have to use upcoming birthday money to buy one! But, here is my question: how are you carrying both a purse and a diaper bag? I know just tend to use the diaper bag as my purse, unless I head out w/out Mags. Is that just what you do? Use it when you are sans kiddos? I just hate that I can't carry purses like I used to! Is that silly?
Suzanne - I always carry a purse and the diaper bags (Lucy and Nate both have one!). I have too much stuff of my own (planner/calendar, wallet, phone, two sets of keys, lip gloss, etc.) to throw it into a diaper bag. Sometimes I do end up taking just my purse and then throwing one Nate diaper and one Lucy diaper and wipes in my own bag. :)
