I just have to post these pictures from today. I tried Lucy's birthday sunglasses on her (she wore them over her eyes for a couple of minutes) and caught these cute shots.
Great pics! About the potty training. I set the timer the 1st day every 15min., second day every 20 min., 3rd day every 25 min. and so on until we got to about 45 min. on the timer. Every time the timer went off we went and sat on the potty whether something happened or not. It worked really well. I say potty training is more about the parent than the child. If you commit to it they get it pretty quick! I stayed home until I was sure Miles could make it 30 min. consistantly! Good luck!
Hey Ricci! I remembered that that's what you'd done for Miles (well, I didn't know about 15 then 20 then 25, but I knew you took him every set amount of minutes). I started out doing that with Nate this week, but I'm finding it doesn't work with him.
At home, he has been going on his own without prompting (!) for the most part, with no accidents the past couple of days. This is when naked. When he has underwear at home or when we're out, he has accidents. Hmm... But today I've had him in underwear all day (at home and on an errand) with no accidents!
The problem I'm encountering is that he does not announce that he has to go--he just walks to the bathroom. This is fine at home, but not when he is out with me or somewhere else like therapy. He needs to tell an adult so they can take him. SOOO, I'm looking for a book or something that might help with this. :)
Hmmm~ What happens when you take him to the potty in each place you travel to 1st thing? Sounds silly but maybe a bell or buzzer that he rings everytime he goes to your pottty at home (like how every kids loves to ring the doorbell) and then take it with you and tell him to ring it when he has to go while you're out. Is that to weird?, I don't know it just seems like a trained noise, or word when he goes at home might help when he's out. Glad undies are working well for you, we had to go w/ boxers cause undies were too much like a diaper. I just had to say keep your shorts dry and in boxers Miles was fine. Hang in there, sounds like it's going relatively well!

The bell is a GREAT idea. That would be such a good reinforcer for Nate because he loves that kind of thing.
Too cute that Miles ended up in boxers! I just remembered that he went underwear-less under his shorts for a while. :)
Yes, Miles does life in his own unique way and we just try to figure out what works for him, strange as it is ;)
