Room for girl and boy

I'm starting to think about rooming possibilities for the children once number three arrives. Of course, I'll probably keep him in a bassinet in our room for the first few months. After that, I'll have to decide who shares a room: Nate and Lucy (perhaps not ideal because Nate doesn't sleep very well) or Lucy and the baby (depending on how well the baby sleeps). No matter what, I'd probably put the baby in the bedroom next to ours, since Nate's room is all the way upstairs. The only small problem with that is Lucy's room is outrageously girl. And I love it. So I've been thinking about what to do to decorate.

The room is pink and green. Perhaps I'll paint one wall green--maybe the kelly green I have in the kitchen? That's the wall I'd put baby boy's crib against. I've also been looking for boyish fabrics that have frogs on them--maybe surfer frogs, camping frogs, etc.? I could use these for crib bedding and they would coordinate with Lucy's girl frog fabrics (which are on her crib right now and--I hope--will transition somehow to a toddler bed). Here are some fabrics and decor items I've found so far:

Some of the wall art is very cute, but I haven't found just the right fabrics yet. I'm thinking I could also do something simple--a white waffle-weave-type fabric for a bumper and bed skirt, with appliqued frogs.

Edited to add: found this cute fabric at purlsoho.com:

Another option would be to use a curtain partition. You could put a rail on the ceiling [sort of like the hospital has] and separate the room... Also, I LOVE that frog bedding. Where you can really on see the eyes of the frog! Very cute. :)

I love some of the art too, I understand about the fabrics, Lucy's bedding is so perfect I think you will have a hard time finding just the right things for th boy side, I love your idea of apliques or maybe in small doses use the froggie fabrics. You know you could do a totally different theme too if you wanted, by painting the boy side a different color you open up your options quite a bit! I love the frog idea though, very cute! Happy Searching.

I love the idea of adding frogs for baby. That would work great and I remember loving that green in your kitchen. I cannot believe you are 23+ weeks pregnant!! Completely unbelievable! Hope all is well, all things are going well for us, enjoying summer. Talk to you soon!

I almost passed out from how cute those boy and girl frog wall hangings are!

Have you see this website?: http://www.whatisblik.com/

It's down for maintenance right now, so I can't search for frogs, but my friend Rachel bought a few of the wall designs, and they're *great.* They look really wonderful and allow for clean lines and easy changes. She has some paisley designs up: you might be able to do something like that in green if you didn't want to repaint the whole wall.

Regardless, I LOVE Lucy's room! You have a such a great eye that whatever you wind up doing will look amazing. Be sure to post photos when you're all done (however long from now)!

Lucy's room is so cute--you've done a great job--it will be so easy to add in the green for a boy! I think I read that you used the same color in your kitchen as Ricci--if so, that would look great for one wall in there!! The frogs are very cute, too. Like Nell said, paisley would be cute, too, either white or dark blue on a green wall, or a color on a white wall. (I'm assuming you don't want that wall pink (grin!)) I'm sure it will be so cute, regardless!!
