Little Levi

Levi had his 12-month check-up last week; he weighed just under 18 pounds, the little guy! That places him below the chart percentile-wise. I've been thinking about making my own high-fat, nutritious drink for him to have in place of milk, since we don't give our kids milk. There isn't much out there resource-wise for this sort of thing. (And I'd rather not give Levi Pediasure, which is for older toddlers, contains milk protein, and is expensive.) I'll let you know how my research goes!

Suz - I have never heard of hemp milk, but it looks perfect! Rice milk is definitely an option too... I'm just looking for the most fattening thing out there. :)

Well if it's any compilation he doesn't look under weight! My Levi is in the 13th percentile right now, I think that there are some grossly overweight babies throwing the percentiles off! Let me know what you end up finding, I'll probably have to do it too!

He is adorable! Are your kids allergic to milk?

Hi Shealynn! They aren't allergic, but Nate's on a restricted diet, Lucy has a sensitive tummy, and I've done some research that shows milk isn't really beneficial anyway (e.g., our bodies don't even absorb the calcium in pasteurized milk).
