First try

I just put Lucy's first Bumgenius diaper on her. It looks so cute! But the funny part is that she is waddling a little bit to get used to the different feel. We'll see how it goes!

On another note, here she is last night after a bath:

8/8/08 Edited to add: I used two cloth diapers yesterday and loved them. I can't believe how soft and dry the first one was on the inside when I changed Lucy after 3+ hours (including her afternoon nap). The insert was soaked and worked great. The second diaper had to be changed quicker, if you know what I mean, and it was very easy. I'm waiting for the PUL bag I ordered to arrive; that will help make storing the dirty diapers easier. (The wetbags are washable, and you just wash them with the load of diapers, so I will eventually get a second one to use while the first is washing.) (And I'm also going to get a cute wetbag to keep in the car. Look at the ones at this girl's shop.)

So cute, such a good listener! I love the towel! Good luck with the diapers, Eli didn't seem to notice the bulk, he noticed the color!

Lucy will probably notice the color too---when I put a colored one on her! This one was white. :)

you will also notice that you have to put a bigger size pant/short on her--like a full size!! To accommodate the bulk.
Also Katie--Elena pees A TON at night, so I undo all the snaps and put in the regular insert, and 2 newborn inserts. Then make sure all the inserts are like 1 inch below the top of the diaper and her jammie pants are at the velcro line instead of up and over. Elena sleeps on her tummy with her tush up in the air, and this is the only way I have found to keep her from getting soaked on her front. Does that make sense? Just make sure the waterproof part is on her skin rather than the inserts right up against it.

That towel cracked me up! Like a cape. :) A good listener indeed. LOL.

I'm laughing a bit at all the "good listener" comments. This was a relatively rare obey-right-away moment! :) But I'll take it.

Yay for cloth diapers--I love mine too!
We're doing pre-folds with either wool covers or Bummis covers.
I'm glad it's working so far.
